I recently quit smoking and now imm having side effects.?

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Hi, i recently quit smoking.. now imm tired.. dizzy… and crave them…what bothers me the most is.. that i cannot stop spitting… i dont know if this has to do with quiting smoking… but i keep spitting up this mucus right now….. people tolled me its cuz ur lungs are healing and all that bad stuff is unpealing.. is this true? and is there anything i can do about it? thanks

Congratulations on becoming a non-smoker. It will be the best gift you can give yourself. I didn’t stop soon enough but I am sure happy that you have. Having phlegm is very normal as your lungs are getting rid of the stuff. You may be able to help it with over the counter tablets called mucinex. You take like two a day and it thins the mucus so that it is easier to get rid of. I use it along with other lung meds to keep my lungs open. Knowing people who have stopped smoking I have a feeling the craving at times is always there but it gets weaker all the time. As far as being dizzy or tired that could be the result of sleeping patterns and also eating and drinking patterns that changed after you stopped. If those two continue you might want to talk to a doctor. Good luck and give yourself a pat on the back you just accomplished the hardest thing you will ever be faced with. Best of all you can now have a lady kiss you and want to come back for seconds cause you don’t taste and smell like a used ashtray.

Royal Tokaji 5 Puttonyos 2005

94pts. Wine Spectator – # 44 Top 100 Wines of 2009! Slight oxidation adds nutty accents and an iodine note to this sinewy dessert white. There’s not a lot of flesh, yet this is intense and complex, with apricot, honey, smoke, spice and mineral flavors that won’t quit. This has a dry, chalky feel on the finish. Drink now through 2025.

if i quit smoking now, will i gain weight?

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

ive been smoking for like mabey a month and a half. and i have mabey 2-4 cigarettes a day. and on weekends i dont smoke. i guess you can say that im addicted. i dont think ill have a craving though. i olny crave when im depressed. i want to stop because i heard u gain weight. but if i quit now will i gain weight? and if so. is there any way not to gain weight?

if you have only been smoking for a month you won’t change anything. you only gain weight cause you will eat more. that is something that can be controlled.

in your case stop now because smoking is very hard to stop when your hooked.

I just quit smoking … now how do I get my apartment to stop smelling like smoke?

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Congratulations on becoming a non smoker!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wash every thing including all hard surfaces in your apartment, walls, cabinets, tvs, computers, etc. Shampoo carpets, wash linens, curtains. Febreze and use air fresheners, and open the windows and let your apartment air out. And don’t forget to throw out all your old stinky ash trays.

Concentrate on the room you smoked in the most, and then move on to the rest of the apartment.

Good luck.

Should I quit smoking now or wait for New Years Day?

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

I ask because of the mental factor of having the new Years resolution to help me when it gets tough? What do you think?

And can you believe it, Yahoo Answers doesn’t have a New Years Day in their Holiday’s category. What a hoot!

wait, because you will be drinking (if you do drink) and you are going to want a smoke

If I quit smoking now, will my lungs be regenerated by 2016?

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

Hi, I have been smoking for about 6-7 months now, and I just found out that my sport made it into the 2016 Olympics. I was wondering if my lungs would regenerate by that time, as I would like to make it into the Olympics?
I am 17 years old, been smoking about 10 – 15 a day.

Your lungs will be back to normal in less time than you think, and certainly by 2016. I assume that you are less than 35 years old, because of your interest in joining the Olympics. So your body will repair itself with training in less than a year. It is widely belived that if you quit smoking by 35 that five years later you will not have any indication that you have ever smoked a day in your life.

I quit smoking 15 days ago and now I am having sever headaches. Is this normal?

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Is this normal part of the detoxing period and if so how long till my headaches stop. I’m not on any meds I quit cold turkey and am not having cravings either. Any advice?

yes that’s normal….I know been there done that. Just bear with it til you get weened off of the nicotine completely you need to get it out of your system. Your body is missing it. I didn’t have cravings or weight gain like people said I would. The reaction is different from one person to the next. Good luck and stick with it take some advil or excedrine the one with all the ingredients that painaid has it it….with asprin and caffine that’ll help.

Doughboys, Playboys and Cowboys: The Golden Years of Western Swing

Doughboys, Playboys and Cowboys: The Golden Years of Western Swing
This four-disc box chronicles the development of Western swing from the Fort Worth Doughboys’ 1932 recordings through its heyday in the late ’40s. Along the way, the collection covers every major artist, from Bob Wills and Spade Cooley to pioneers like Milton Brown and Bill Boyd, who have been under-represented almost to the point of extinction in the CD era. It also includes Patsy Montana’s groundbreaking hit single, “I Want to Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart,” and other fascinating tracks such as the Tex-Mex stomper “El Rancho Grande” by the Tune Wranglers, “Bring It on Down to My House” by Derwood Brown His Musical Brownies, and dozens of others. The accompanying 43-page booklet features bios on all the artists as well as song notes and rare photographs. Unfortunately, this doesn’t include anything after 1947, but such is the nature of Proper boxes. Besides, this doesn’t claim to be an exhaustive chronology — the subtitle, “The Golden Years of Western Swing,” states the intent and, as such, this is magnificent stuff. Considering what’s been included, it’s hard to squabble over what’s been left out (”Take Me Back to Tulsa,” “Milk Cow Blues,” and “Steel Guitar Rag” are notable examples), but pretend you don’t know that and this set is perfect, containing every artist, every development, and every song that made Western swing a national phenomenon.

My ex quit smoking a year ago and now has been told she has cancerous tumour’s on her bladder?

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

here’s the shocking part. The doc told her the cancer was caused because she use to smoke. How many people out there have similar stories? Have you or anyone you know gotten some god awful disease after quitting that was related to the fact they use to smoke?

It’s not really shocking – just maybe not publicized enough. Smoking is the number one risk factor for developing bladder cancer. Sorry this had to happen to your ex.
